![]() Tell you what, since I was a bit vague on the parts that concerned me the most. That is a fair enough response, I think with all the hoopla over the toolbar it was easy to get suspicious of a process that is different from the one you get when you go to the actual VLC site. I still use uTorrent.Version 1.8.2 back when it still had some of its integrity left. Not cool, in fact this is downright dishonest. redirecting, monitoring your surfing habits and other spyware, marketing type practices. I am going to guess that the program is probably doing the same mischievous thing that the toolbar is. I do not know if this is the same sort of problem that folks are up in arms about with the toolbar, but clearly there is a deception going on. Basically when you install a program from the applications section they also install a spoof program with the same name. ![]() Right above it was another program simply called VLC and the Sponser?.Bittorrent Inc. I then went directly to my windows uninstaller and guess what I found. Ok no problem.but then during the installation I am suddenly asked if that program could connect to or monitor incoming connections or torrents or words to that effect. The first thing I noticed when I clicked on it was the installer was by bittorrent inc. Since I had recently upgraded my PC and had not yet installed VLC I decided to use that installer. I decided to try the new uTorrent and I was checking out Applications section when I saw the VLC Player installer.
